Armageddon

Armageddon

Rev 16:15 "Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him,

so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed." 16 Then they gathered the kings together

to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

17 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and out of the temple came a loud voice from the

throne, saying, "It is done!" 18 Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and

a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth, so

 tremendous was the quake. NIV

Armageddon is the fulfillment of The Lords Festivals.

Armageddon is Hebrew, referring to a ‘Looming’ Mountain that many will converge to. Which mountain?

The Shadow of Armageddon is found in Genesis 22. Abraham was sent to the land of Moriah to be tested. Moriah is the Temple mount. The Scripture says Abraham “lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off.” Moriah is the mountain where the “Lord would see” his sacrifice, bringing redemption to the world.

Gen 22:1 Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, "Abraham!"

"Here I am," he replied.

2 Then God said, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about."

3 Early the next morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about. 4 On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. 5 He said to his servants, "Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you."

6 Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. NIV

Gen 22:13 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. 14 So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, "On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided." NIV

2 Chron 3:1 Then Solomon began to build the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, where the Lord had appeared to his father David. It was on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite, the place provided by David. 2 He began building on the second day of the second month in the fourth year of his reign. NIV

The kings refer to the 12 tribes of Israel. Three times a year the tribes of Israel were to converge on Jerusalem for the Festivals of the Lord. The Festivals were at appointed times, in order as the days of creation. They were in numbers like the sand of the sea shore. Armageddon began with the choosing of the Passover Lamb.

All the Festivals of the Lord Culminated with the choosing of the Passover Lamb. The festivals were Sacred Assemblies, rehearsals foretelling the work of the Messiah. All of Israel would witness Gods sin offering on Mount Moriah. Armageddon was fulfilled when Jesus said, “It is finished.” The Earthquake followed.

Lev 23:1 The Lord said to Moses, 2 "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'These are my appointed feasts, the appointed feasts of the Lord, which you are to proclaim as sacred assemblies. 3 "'There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a Sabbath to the Lord. 4 "'These are the Lord's appointed feasts, the sacred assemblies you are to proclaim at their appointed times:

Deut 16:16 Three times a year all your men must appear before the Lord your God at the place he will choose: …No man should appear before the Lord empty-handed: 17 Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the Lord your God has blessed you. NIV
