Mystery of Scripture

The Mystery of the Scriptures

Mark 4:11 And He said to them,

"To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God;

but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, NKJV

Understanding the Spiritual interpretation of scripture

To understand the Spiritual interpretation of the Scriptures, you must be prepared to think outside of the box. You have to set aside any and all traditional teachings or literal interpretations you consider if your going to understand the spiritual. Every one of them. This is where you learn to put your faith in the Word of God. When you begin to see and understand, you will realize how accurate the bible is. Then you will see how it is written by inspired men under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Then your hooked and your faith in the word grows exponentially.

Matt 13:52 Then He said to them, "Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven

is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old." NKJV

The Bible speaks for itself. The Bible has all the Spiritual answers to every question you have. They are buried right in front of you in the Scriptures. Like lost coins hiding underneath the sand on the beach. You find them using the right tools.

Tale of Two Covenants

The Natural and the Spiritual; The Message beneath the message

Nicodemus and Jesus; What was the barrier?

John 3:1-12 There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him."

3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

4 Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?"

5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

9 Nicodemus answered and said to Him, "How can these things be?"

10 Jesus answered and said to him, "Are you the teacher of Israel, and do not know these things? 11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? NKJV

Nicodemus and Jesus both knew the Torah and Prophets. Nicodemus understood the scriptures from the ‘natural’ perspective of the Flesh, while Jesus uses the same scriptures to teach about the ‘Spiritual’ Kingdom of Heaven.

The Message beneath the message. Two opposing concepts in the same stories.

When you read the bible either one time or twenty times, the natural tendency is to read the Bible from the literal perspective. It’s how the bible is taught in church. That was Nicodemus. The creation of Adam and Eve, the serpent tempting Eve, Noah and the flood, the stories of Abraham, Jacob with his sons going to Egypt. Followed by Moses leading Israel out of Egypt, walking between walls of water on dry ground.

Isa 55:9" For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways

higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. NKJV

Every story in the Old Testament from Genesis to Malichi all refer to the fulfillment of the Gospels. The only way to see the ‘message beneath the message’ is to incorporate simple concepts, and many hours of digging into the bible to match the stories in the scriptures to the events in the Gospels.

Once you see the concepts and understand how they work, you can read through the bible from the beginning and see the spiritual intention of the message. Then you will truly begin to understand the Holy Nature of the Word of God.

Parables and Puzzles.

Prov 1:1 The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel:

2 To know wisdom and instruction, To perceive the words of understanding,

3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, Justice, judgment, and equity;

4 To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion —

5 A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,

6 To understand a proverb and an enigma, The words of the wise and their riddles. NKJV

Parables and Puzzles are throughout the bible. It’s up to you to find them and connect them to the correct scriptures to understand them. There is detailed information on Parables and Puzzles on the web site.

Concealed and Revealed

Throughout Scripture you hear terms such as Concealed and things Revealed, A voice speaking from the Cloud, Smoke that conceals the image of God, Mirrors, etc. By God’s design, every event in scripture points to fulfillment but are written in a way to conceal who the Messiah was until he revealed himself at the resurrection.

Connecting the scriptures from one book to another will reveal the answers, such as what Jesus wrote in the sand as the Pharisee’s brought the woman caught in adultery.

Hebrew Roots

The Hebrew language is crucial to correctly interpret the underlying messages. Names, Locations, and other words found throughout our translated bible are still in Hebrew. (The reason we cannot pronounce them) The definition and interpretations of those passages reveal the true nature of the text. Take the words down to the root words to get clarity.

What looks like a war brewing between kings is actually a story of the Disciples of Jesus defending the Scriptures against the yeast of the Pharisee’s. You will not interpret scripture without the use of the Hebrew, Greek dictionaries.

Matt 5:18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away,

one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. NKJV

Symbolism

Do not take any passage for granted. If your seeing something literal, you’re missing the spiritual. Look for the Spiritual interpretation throughout the book in both Old and New testaments.

Gal 4:22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a bondwoman, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise, 24 which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar — 25 for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children — 26 but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. NKJV

Word association

Connect scriptures using word association. Rather than use one passage to understand a word, do a word search such as “my ways” and connect the scriptures to one another for a more detailed understanding of the word.

Bible version

The Scriptures all evolve around the Hebrew Text. Newer Bible versions are great for a believer learning about faith. However, for those who seek to deeper study, the closer the bible version is to the original Hebrew text makes for the best Study bible.

Luke 8:8 "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" NKJV

Col 1:24 I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church, 25 of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, 26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. NKJV

Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual, NKJV

1 Cor 2:13 These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches

but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. NKJV

1 Cor 12:8 …for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. NKJV

Isa 11:1 There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.

2 The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,

The Spirit of counsel and might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. NKJV

Ps 78:1 Give ear, O my people, to my law; Incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

2 I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old,

3 Which we have heard and known, And our fathers have told us.

4 We will not hide them from their children,

Telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord,

And His strength and His wonderful works that He has done. NKJV
